Danier Leather and Sweaters For Cold Fall Days

Here in Ontario the weather has gone from being freezing one day to warm the next, it seemed like mother nature could not decide if she wanted it to be fall or spring. But of recently there has been a constant chill in the air, cold enough to always need a sweater or coat outside. It officially feels like fall, which means I can breakout my boots and start wearing all my fall clothes.

Sexy Little Things

There are many different types of perfume and body mist on the market, some by the giant fashion houses, others by celebrities and some generic store brands. One of the best out would definitely be Sexy Little Things Noir by Victoria Secrets. The shape of the bottle and design on the label is aesthetically pleasing, but most importantly the scent is not too overpowering. There is nothing worse then a scent that, even when only spraying a small amount, is over powering. I have a sensitive nose, so a perfume that is not too strong is a must. This body Mist is $15.00 a bottle, if this or any of their other body mist interest you there is a sale at Victoria Secrets right now, $9.00 a bottle, so right now is the time to buy.

The Perfect Accessory: The 1920's Head Piece

$1,600.00 - 1920’s Art Deco Velvet & Rhinestone Cloche. Original beaded cloches & headdresses are nearly impossible to find today. This is an extremely rare and substantial piece that came from a single collector as part of a time capsule collection that spanned some 40 years. Black silk velvet embellished w/ neatly arranged tiny brass flatwork & prong set glittering rhinestones. Flattering flocked stone netting and elaborate beaded fringe tassels give this headpiece star quality (hva):
Salon of the Dames

I love 1920's head pieces, especially ones in black. They can be used for all sorts of occasions, if you haven't chosen a Halloween costume yet, you can get a beautiful head piece and dress as a flapper. Or if you have a party or big event to attend, a 1920's head piece will give your outfit a touch of old glamour and you will stand out against all the other guest. The head pieces that are not to elaborate can even be worn day today, spicing up any outfit.

Rising Star Andra Day

I am loving the beautiful voice and amazing music of Andra Day. In a time filled with generic pop music, she is a breath of fresh air. She was discovered singing in a night club by the legendary Stevie Wonder and later was signed by Warner Bros. studios after buzz around her covers were building. One thing that is great about Andra is that she is not just one thing, she sings blues, jazz, doo wop and R& B, showing that she is versatile. Her album Cheers To The Fall has production credits by Raphael Saadiq and Questlove. It is clear to see the Ms. Day has a bright future ahead of her.

Liberals Destroy The Competition

Vogue Magazine 1991

I chose this Vogue Magazine Picture of super models Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen because it describes what happened it this  Federal Election perfectly. I thought it would be a close race between The Liberal Party lead by Justin Trudeau and The Conservative Party led by former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, but that was not what happen at all. At first it looked like the Liberals were the only one winning seats when the Atlantic poll results were in with 33 seats for The Liberals and zero seats for everyone else. It did not get much better from there the Liberals had a huge lead for the entire night winning an overwhelming majority with 192 seats. They made history, becoming the first party to go from third place one election, to winning the next election. Congratulations to Justin Trudeau our new Prime Minister.

Women Of The World Series

Dita Von Teese

I decided to start my women of the world series with Dita Von Teese for one reason, she is a remarkable woman.  She has qualities that every women should has and those qualities are that she is strong, confident and not afraid of her sexuality. She is able to be both sexy and classy, something many other celebrities are not able to properly balance. Anytime a woman chooses to embrace her sexuality, there are debates on whether she is empowering women or not. Dita Von Teese definitely is an empowered woman. Her fashion sense is flawless, she channels the starlets of old, while still having a modern feel as well. I especially like when she wears blacks and reds.

Book Review : The Illusionist

Yesterday I went to the Library and stumbled upon this great find. The First thing I noticed when looking through the adult fiction section was the side picture (same as the cover). When I pulled it out and looked at the cover, I was intrigued, the women has an old time performer look, that I loved and the title made me feel this book would be worth reading. I read the summary at the back and new for sure this was the book for me.  It talked about a woman who bulked against tradition and the mystique of a performing troupe. When I started reading I was surprised that it did not begin with the woman mentioned in the summary, but with the man she will eventually be working for, Devil Winx. I was surprised but not disappointed, the first page begins by introducing him and saying Devil Winx is the name he is known by his admirers and enemies. This of course made me feel that Mr. Winx was going to be a very intriguing character and from what I have read he is going to be up to all kinds of mischief. I am also glad that the story is being told from more that one person's perspective; while I do not mind one narrative stories, but as we often see in everyday situations, people often have very different views from each other. This makes me wonder during one person narratives, how the other characters feel in different situations and if the main character is giving an accurate account of what is happening. I have just started reading this story, but it looks like it will be a very good read. When I finish the novel I will write another review to tell you if the novel lived up to the promising beginning.
